Management Team:

The company is led by Conor Hanley, CEO, who has deep experience in commercialising technology in cleantech and consumer electronics. In addition to his general management responsibilities, Conor also leads BiancaMed’s sales efforts. Prior to BiancaMed, Conor led the alternative energy business development efforts for hydrogen and fuel cells of Air Products in Europe and, before that, the global technology licensing program and their North American consumer electronics distribution network at Ntera, a printed electronics provider. Conor holds a PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA from Insead.

Conor Heneghan is the Chief Scientific Officer (CSO) in charge of sensor development and production. Before co-founding BiancaMed, he was a faculty member at UCD School of Electrical, Electronic and Mechanical Engineering. He was also the first Director of Telemedicine at New York Eye and Ear Infirmary where he pioneered the concept of remote tele-endoscopy. He also worked with Boston University’s Biomedical Engineering Department on determining fundamental limits in the area of neural signal processing. Conor holds a PhD in Electrical Engineering from Columbia University and is an inventor or co-inventor on 6 patent and patent applications.

Philip de Chazal is the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) in charge of software and based at BiancaMed’s HQ in Dublin. Prior to BiancaMed, he was Senior Researcher at UCD, developing biomedical algorithms. His prior experience includes MedCare (Australia) where he headed the technical group which developed software development for a suite of home-health monitoring equipment for the elderly, and CSIRO (Australia) where he was a Researcher in medical ultrasound. Philip holds a PhD in Electrical Engineering from the University of New South Wales and is a recognized leader in biomedical pattern recognition and an inventor on 5 patent and patent applications.

Mr. Stephen McMahon is the Production Manager, in charge of all post-R&D activities, product manufacturing and delivery. Stephen has over 25 years experience in product design, manufacturing and delivery. Stephen most recently founded Innvelop, a product development and business planning consultancy, as well as two technology companies, Innovada, an internet access company, in which he held the position of CEO and COO, and MDS Gateways, an electronic product design company, where he acted as CTO. Stephen holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree from University College Dublin.

Mr. Leo Toole is the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Prior to BiancaMed, Leo was in a number of financial management positions with Procter & Gamble, in Brussels, Geneva and Dublin. His final position with P&G was Customer Team Finance Manager in Ireland, managing a team of four, delivering customer business plans, marketing plans, trade term analysis and investment appraisal for P&G’s Irish business (with sales of €185 Mil). Leo holds an MBA from Insead.
